Calling all speech and language detectives! Use this Fall WH Question Mystery Game to practice WH questions, sentence formulation, expressive and receptive vocabulary, and executive function skills. Be the first to solve the fall themed mystery and receive the Super Sleuth Award!
This activity is perfect for targeting a variety of WH questions within context across multiple sessions. Students will love taking ownership of their detective notebooks tracking the clues to solve the mystery. The questions and responses are loaded with fall themed vocabulary making this an ideal activity for mixed goal groups. Plus sequencing the final answers to solve the mystery supports executive function skills as well as sentence formulation.
How To Use:
1. Assemble each WH question challenge in a file folder for repeated use.
2. Provide your student with the Junior Detective Notebook or the individual WH question answer sheet.
3. Give the student one WH question challenge folder at a time. The student will listen to each WH question and cross out the picture answer (11/12 answers should be crossed out). The picture that is not crossed out is the answer to the challenge question. Students should record their answers in the Junior Detective Notebook or answering sheet.
4. Ask student to combine all the answers of each challenge to create a sentence. Reveal the picture scene to show the solution to the mystery.
5. Present the Super Sleuth Award!
