The story has lots of descriptive vocabulary to discuss the changing of the seasons as well as beautiful illustrations. Ask WH questions throughout and describe the pictures. Check out the story link below!

Scavenger Hunts

We love the Spring Vocabulary Scavenger Hunt for so many reasons. First, our students love them! Second, who doesn’t love an activity that can be used four different ways. Third, your session planning will be as easy as a spring breeze!

Print and laminate the vocabulary cards to hide around the classroom or place into a sensory bin. Use the sentence strip visual to create 4-5 word utterances. Use the find and color or find and cover pages for additional activity. Pair the hidden spring picture scene with any of the above ideas for a fully comprehensive vocabulary activity for your next spring speech and language session!

Targeted spring vocabulary words include: Flower, Rainbow, Butterfly, Watering Can, Sun, Bee, Rain Boots, Wheelbarrow, Umbrella, Caterpillar, Rain, Tree, Kite, and Snail.

Print the no-prep black and white coloring page to send as homework or use during a session to review the spring vocabulary concepts. Lastly, use the pretend magnifying glasses to make your students feel like they are the ultimate spring detectives! Great way to target spatial prepositions too!
