We absolutely love all things FALL! Especially when we can incorporate fall fun into vocabulary games and activities throughout our speech and language sessions. Here are our favorite easy fall vocab games to target thematic words, basic concepts, cooperative play, and so much more! To make things even simpler, use our free fall vocabulary cards for every activity listed below!

Magic Magnet Vocabulary Game
Grab a magnetic wand, paper clips, and fall vocab words! Your students will be all in while picking up their target words during this fun fall game. We laminated our cards for repeated use, but that’s not necessary if you are short on time. This game also works great for articulation too!
Memory Vocabulary Game
Lay out the fall vocabulary cards face up for additional visuals or face down for those students who like a little bit of a challenge. Play a simple game of memory while labeling and describing each fall vocabulary word. This is also the perfect way to work on turn taking and waiting in between turns!
Hit It Vocabulary Game
Lay out all of your target fall vocabulary words for this super easy and engaging game! Give a simple direction or description and have your students slap the fall vocabulary word. The first person to slap the correct response gets to keep the card!
Here are some simple directions and descriptives you could use during this engaging vocab game.
- Hit a tree.
- Hit a mug.
- Hit a scarecrow.
- Hit something you can drink.
- Hit something that is crunchy.
- Hit something that you can ride.
- Hit a sunflower.
- Hit something that is black.

Fall Vocabulary Sensory Bin
Oh how we love a good sensory bin! Check out this fall sensory bin full of mini pine cones (compliments of my backyard), pom poms, plastic acorns (we like these ones), and our fall vocabulary cards! Once all of the cards have been found and identified, let your students enjoy all of the textures, colors, and containers!
Fall BINGO Vocabulary Game
Have students pick a card and label the item. Then have students cover the picture with a bingo chip, paint dotter, or fall pictures. Students can take turns calling each fall vocabulary word! Be sure to yell BINGO! when you get a full row, column, or card.
Find It Vocabulary Game
Lay all of the fall vocabulary cards out face up for each student to see. Give a category or short description. Have the students collect all of the pictures that match that description! Students can even take turns giving their own descriptive phrases to each other. Play until all of the cards have been picked!
What’s Missing Vocabulary Game
Place four fall vocabulary cards in a row. Have your student close their eyes while you remove one of the cards. When they open their eyes, they can guess which fall word is missing. If needed you can provide short descriptive clues to help them figure out the correct response!
Matching Fall Vocabulary Game
Print two black and white full pages of fall vocabulary words. Cut up one of the pages. Have students match each picture. While matching, students can label the item, describe the color, state where you find it, or explain the function. Play until you fill the entire card!
