How To Use

Choose your Valentine’s Day speech craft then print the corresponding target sound page for each student. Have students color and say their words. Once colored, they can cut and say each word.

Glue on each word to the background while practicing again. Lastly, students can point to each word and say their sound. So many opportunities for multiple productions!

Every Sound, Every Position

For all of the Valentine’s Day speech articulation crafts, there is a page containing 12 target sounds on themed items. There is a corresponding sound page for the initial, medial, and final plus mixed positions. Print your student’s target sound to complete each craft.

Every craft includes the following speech sounds: /p/, /b/, /m/, /n/, /w/, /h/, /t/, /d/, /k/, /g/, /s/, /z/, /f/, /v/, /sh/, /ch/, /th/, /j/, /l/, /r/, /air/, /ar/, /ear/, /er/, /ire/, /or/, /sw/, /sm/, /sp/, /sn/, /st/, /sl/, /sk/, /bl/, /kl/, /fl/, /gl/, /pl/, /sl/, /br/, /kr/, /dr/, /fr/, /gr/, /pr/, /tr/.

All sounds have a mixed positions page, but the following sounds are included in the initial, medial, and final positions as well: /p/, /b/, /m/, /n/, /w/, /h/, /t/, /d/, /k/, /g/, /s/, /z/, /f/, /v/, /sh/, /ch/, /th/, /j/, /l/.

Print this Valentine’s Day Chocolate Box Speech Therapy Articulation Craft to target every sound in every position. Students will color, cut, and paste yummy candies to fill candy boxes while practicing sounds.

Phonological Processes

While having a specific page for each individual sound is awesome, phonological process errors can be targeted with these crafts as well making them even more versatile! Use the mixed pages to target a phonological pattern during your Valentine’s Day speech sessions. For example, print the mixed /k/ or /g/ target words to work on fronting or mixed /l/ blends page to improve gliding. You can even print individual sounds to work on early developmental sound such as /p/, /b/, /t/, and /d/.

Print this Valentine’s Day Sweet Treats Speech Therapy Articulation Craft to target a variety of phonological processes including fronting, stopping, final consonant deletion, and more. Students will love discussing their favorite yummy sweet treats to practice their speech goals at home too!

Targeting individual blends has many benefits as students cycle through errors or tackle new ones. These specific sound pages are great to improve cluster reduction and review all blends. Print and use the mixed /s/ blends page to decrease cluster reduction too!

Use our Valentine’s Day Love Notes Speech Therapy Articulation Craft to cut and paste a variety of letters into a mailbox. Best part? Use each stamped letter to further target /s/ blends during your sessions!

While having resources for early developmental sounds and phonological processes is always helpful, you may need some later developing sounds for your old speech students too. All of our Valentine’s Day speech articulation crafts include those tricky digraphs. Target initial, final, and medial /th/, /sh/, and /ch/ while completing an easy craft for take home practice.
